🎓 Educational Qualification

For the post of Assistant Teacher (Primary) under DSSSB:

For the Directorate of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi:

One of the following:

  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) (or equivalent) from a recognized board/institution.
  • Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 45% marks plus a 2-year D.El.Ed. in accordance with NCTE norms (for those qualified under older norms).
  • Senior Secondary (10+2) with at least 50% marks + 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed.).
  • Graduation with 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  • Must have passed the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
  • Must have studied Hindi or Urdu or Punjabi or English as a subject at Secondary level.

For the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) variant:

💰 Pay Scale & Salary Structure

  • The basic starting pay (entry‐level) for a PRT under DSSSB is about ₹ 35,400 per month.
  • The pay level corresponds to Pay Level 6 under the 7th Pay Commission matrix (for many such teaching posts) which has a basic range of ₹ 35,400 to ₹ 1,12,400.
  • On top of the basic pay, you get allowances such as Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), etc. For example:
    • HRA around 20-30% of basic pay (depending on city category).
    • TA around ₹ 3,600 per month in many cases.
